On the central beach there is a shallow, beautiful natural bay, which is special because it has been preserved as a natural sandy beach, which is found in very few places on the southern shores of Lake Balaton. The shoal deepens slowly and gradually, making it a perfect bathing spot for small children. The municipality carried out major renovation works in the bay in spring 2010. The sharp gravel that had been scattered in previous years was removed and replaced by soft sand. On the shore, on the breakwater, silky sand from Lake Balaton was also placed, where children can "build" in it. The roots of the trees are surrounded by pine stakes to protect them from washing out. From 15 June 2016, it will continue to operate as a paid beach. Since 2019, renovations have been carried out in several phases: new changing rooms, barrier-free access, toilets and a 450 m2 sun deck connected to the beach.

The central beach is also the venue for several gastronomic events. Among others, the season-opening Sárszó Fish Boiling Competition and the season-closing International Lecsófeszivál. The location has attracted cooking teams and guests from abroad for years. Balatonszárszó's biggest festival, Süsü the Dragon Festival, is also held on the beach. The 450m2 sundeck has become a new event venue in Balatonszárszó.

The beach was also awarded a 5-star rating in 2023, as well as a special award from Somogy County.

The entrance to the beach and from there to Lake Balaton, the barrier-free ramp/ramp and 2 snack bars as well as the toilets are accessible for disabled persons.

In 2010 we were awarded the 2nd best beach on Lake Balaton by the balatontipp.hu website. In 2018 the beach was awarded the four-star yellow wave blue flag - officially called "Blue Wave Flag" - by the Balaton Association. In 2020 and 2021, as well as in 2022 and 2023, 2024, 2025 our beach was awarded a 5* rating!
